Spring Lips

Hello Everyone :)

I'm loving the new colours that Revlon have brought out for spring/summer and the one that has captured my heart is lilac pastelle. I've already posted about the nail polish but I popped back into Superdrug and picked up the lip gloss and it really is lovely! I've been teaming it with Barry M's 129...

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Barry M lip paints - I can't stand 101 euch and as for 129 this is my third, the formula is so soft that I always snap them and it goes all mushy. Anyways I digress...I rushed home and instantly teamed lilac pastelle with 129 and I think it's rather pretty...


I wore this today when I met my friend Kirsty for a walk round the shops and then a lovely stroll around the park (with a stop at animal corner to feed the goats ha) and it really did make me feel all spring like - hooray!

I cannot wait for summer, I started compiling my summer playlist today and at the very top is Kelis' new song acapella...go press play and have a little shimmy!

Brows!

Hello Everyone :)

A couple of people have commented lately asking about my brows. I am in no way an expert and being honest brow filling is something I've only started experimenting with but i'm quite happy with the routine i've setlled into. Firstly i'll show a before and after picture...






In the first picture my brow is less defined, has sparse areas and also has a few stray hairs. However, in the second picture they are tidier, more defined and shaped. Personally, brow maintance has become an indespensable part of my daily routine, it adds definition and frame for my face - I am sold on the power of the brow!

I have experimented a lot lately on the best way to shape and fill in my brows - I don't like scary 'spok brows' or a line that looks like it's obviously been drawn in. Personally I would stay away from stencils, instead work with your natural shape (I have learned the hard way ha). Anyways the easiest and most natural method I have found is to use a small angled brush and powder. A pencil is also good but as they contain wax it's not as long lasting as a powder as it melts with body heat.

For darker hair I would say always go for a shade or two lighter than your natural colour, if you're a similar hair colour to me MAC's expresso is quite a good match


Try and use a small, stiff angled brush as it will make it much easier to get a more arch. My number one choice is my favorite and most used brush by sephora which I have three of haha...

Good alternatives are the Revlon small angled brush and the MAC 208.

My top tips for brow shaping and filling in are:

1. Always use small strokes, avoid drawing in one long line as this can often look fake.
   
2. Always use straight strokes and not curves - the aim is to add angles.
3. Don't forget the tail of your brow - extending this down to a trimmed edge is much more flattering.
4. Always use your natural brow shape as a guide, don't try and alter it too much.
5. Use clear mascara rather than buying expensive brow gels/wax.

A Forgotten Friend

Hello Everyone :)

I spent the whole of yesterday watching series 5 of The Hills and afterwards felt a serious need for long beautiful wavy hair with plaits and headbands galore. This then caused me to fall back in love with an old friend...my conical wand.

I don't know why I go through stages of using this lovely contraption and then not as it really does leave your hair in beautiful waves...

I love love love it!! The thing that surprises me every time I use my conical wand is how fast it is...I just wind my hair round the wand for about 10 seconds to get the above curls. In work one girl told me I must have too much time on my hands to do this to my hair in the morning (a tad cheeky but oh well lol) but honestly I don't think this takes much more time than using my ghd's and I much prefer this style!

I can also say that it works on any hair type as I used this on my lovely friend clare's hair on saturday who has beautiful super curly hair and the waves were the same as mine - yay!!

I think this was hogmany 2007/8 and myself and my two friends Elianne and Lauren went to The Arches in Glasgow to colours. I took a total tantrum that night as I paid £45 for my ticket mainly to see 2manydjs and they were on at 9.30....SAY WHAAAAAT?? We hadn't even left home at half nine!! I was not amused!! Yet again this is just one of my many photos that demonstrate my boobs many multi-uses...this time a handy shelf for people to rest their weary heads on ah ha! If you haven't done this before (or even if you have as I already have) go and do it now so I can have a leetle perv!

Now I'm looking for some words of wisdom...do any of you ever have a confidence crisis about your blog? I have been hitting the total jangly nerves lately and I'm not quite sure why! I've been losing followers all over the shop which despite having a group of beautiful lovely ladies who read my blog always makes me a bit sad! Please let me know i'm not the only one who gets a little self conscious/nervey about their blog sometimes...or else if you don't - how do you do it?? Right, needy ramble OVER :D

A Peek Into my Homemade Warbrobe :)

Hello Everyone :)

When I mentioned that I used to make and sell clothes on ebay, a few of my lovely twitter chums asked to see a few bits and pieces. I've been quite reluctant and a tad nervous to do this post as it's quite a personal thing to me and stupidly I am quite sensitive about it! Anyway, i've started off slowly and have snapped my favorite-ist skirt in the whole wide world...



Ha ha yep, its a pokemon skirt! I love pokemon (the game, not the telly programme) and was so excited when I spotted a duvet cover in a sale a couple of years ago which magically transformed into this pretty skirt! It's got a big underskirt and an elasticated waist band and as you can see you can wear it either way round.

Sadly I don't wear it as much as I want to as I tend to get quite odd looks, i've heard so many different comments in the past including 'I wish I was a girl so I could wear that skirt' to 'OMG she's wearing a pokemon skirt HAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAA' *whilst pointing and laughing*. However it will always have a special place in my heart!

I would love to hear what you think, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea (ie people who act their age ha ha) but still would be lovely!

OOTN

Hello Everyone :)

Last night it was my lovely friend Flo's 21st birthday. To celebrate she had a big party at her mum's house in Dunoon. Here is what I wore...

Ha ha yep it was Disney Themed! I went as Esmarelda from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Shona went as Tink and Clare went as Wendy. Because Shona and I were both working till 6 we literally had 5 minutes to get ready, so I look a little rumpled ha ha. I didn't really get a chance to take many photos (i'll probs steal more from facey b laters to show you all) but here is a photo of the beautiful birthday girl and her boyfriend Roddy...

They went as beauty and the beast...I wish you could see the back of roddy's mask, he had a proper mane!

We had such a good night, though getting the boat back from Dunoon this morning was not pleasant with a hangover!

Review: VO5 Extreme Style Matte Clay

Hello Everyone :)

You all know I ♥ big hair and I am on a constant search to find products that give me the big, beautiful hair my heart desires. On a recent rifle through our bathroom cabinet I stumbled across this little gem...

I couldn't help sticking my finger in it and having a play...and it is marvelous for adding volume around the roots of your hair. This is a forgotten product, left abandoned and lost by Nick so i'm glad I can give it some love! It's quite a tacky, thick consistency and as the name suggests is matte....


This is roughly the amount I would use for daily wear. I rub the product between the tips of my fingers on both hands and apply the product to the roots under the first layer of my hair. In terms of getting volume, I haven't used this on the crown of my head as it seems a little heavy and sticky to use here...using underneath the first layer of hair gives ample volume and hold which should last all day.

I am a champion of mattifying powders, though I have stressed that these can dry your hair so I'm trying to limit their use for special occasions. With this matte clay i've found a happy medium for everyday use, it doesn't leave hair hard - you can comb through easily and I haven't noticed any hair damage (i've been using this for about a month now). Also, this is a cheaper alternative to a mattifying powder :)


I just checked and you can get this for £2.50 in Superdrug just now!
