She doesn't know what an unbirthday is...

Hey Dolls :)

Today I'm spending the day reading Alice through the Looking Glass, I adore Lewis Carroll because of amazing quotes such as: 'If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see'.

Here's what I look like today...

Face

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
MAC MSF Natural
Illamasqua Bronzing Duo
Illamasqua Nymph Blush

Review: N-Spa Hot Butter Fudge Range

Hey Dolls :)

After five years of living on my own I still get excited going food shopping and I can spend ages wandering up and down the aisles (sadly the cleaning aisle is my favorite haha). On a recent trip to Asda I had a good sniff at the N-Spa range and fell in love with the Indulgent Hot Butter Fudge products...

Sugar Body Polish

Granted, this isn't a particularly summery smell - it is a beautiful warm, buttery, fudgey, caramelly delight for the nose. It makes me very happy. I like sugar scrubs over more grainy, tough body scrubs. It's exfoliating but not too rough that your skin feels it's been assaulted with sandpaper. Unusually for a scrub, the scent lingers on the skin for quite a while. I like the packaging - it's plastic not glass though you wouldn't be able to tell just from looking and I think it looks pretty in my bathroom. For around £6 you get 350 ml of product (a lot goes a long way) so I would say this is pretty affordable!

Bath Syrup

This bath syrup creates nice, frothy bubbles (again with the beeee-utiful scent) and again the toffee smell lingers quite a while in the bath. However, it isn't very moisturising so the last couple times I've popped in a little bit of a lush bath melt. You get 500 ml for about £3/4 and again a little goes a long way :)

'Decadence' said the wise man 'is like a sumptuous caramel with a slow-burn creamy sweetness. Soft brown sugar and toffee, like clotted cream ice cream in the summer melting to hot butter fudge.'

DELICIOUS!

I love Tim Burton!

Hey Dolls :)

I recently went to a Tim Burton themed night and rather than opting to dress up as a particular character I decided to take inspiration from films like Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride and Edward Scissorhands and wear make up that was not only quite Gothic but also beautiful and romantic...here's what it looked like

Fingers crossed you can see where I pulled my inspiration from, my favorite part was actually my hair...

I backcombed my whole head then pushed the crown back using an elasticated headband and finally tucked the ends of my hair into the bottom of the band - I hope that made sense! I actually love this look and would consider wearing it out again - maybe to Death Disco or something, I only wish you could see the contour a bit better - it's purple!

Fingers crossed this vampy look brings a chap like this along...

P.S The song of the night was this - perfect for some drunken swaying in the middle of a packed dance floor hahaha

Cherries in the Snow...Again

Hey Dolls :)

There are some products that keep popping up in my blog because I love them so much...Revlon's Cherries in the Snow is one of these. I love this lipstick - it's such a beautiful colour, a vibrant raspberry red. However in my initial post the photographs aren't very good and I don't really talk about the lipstick much so I decided to write a more detailed post. At first the thought of cherries in the snow can be a tad scary because it is quite bright but as reds go it's really wearable...

The formula is not drying and lasts quite a long time - if you have ever worn benetint on your lips, cherries in the snow fades to a similar colour but a bit stronger - lovely! It is fairly blue based meaning it doesn't leave your teeth looking like you've been smoking 20 a day for the last 40 years (my pet hate with reds despite my having quite white teeth) and finally it's a cream finish making the formula really easy to work with...

Cherries in the Snow and I's love affair continues to bloom :D

My Five Minute Face

Hey Dolls :)

I forgot that I had scheduled my May Favorites for today so I'm posting twice today as I have a blog routine to maintain this week haha.

I love make up. It makes me happy. However, on a day to day basis when I have to get up for work at 6 on Saturday morning to get to work for 8 I would rather have an extra half an hour in bed than doing a full face of make up. Here's my five minute face...

Face

MAC Studio Fix Fluid
MAC MSF Natural
Illamsqua Nymph Blush

Eyes

UDPP
Urban Decay Half Baked
MAC Carbon
MAC Smoulder Pencil
MAC MSF Natural
Max Factor Lash Extension Effect Mascara

Lips

MAC Florabundance Lipglass

Also, a couple people asked what my hair looked like without extensions so there you go! To go along with my 5 minute face is my five minute hair - a quick run over with GHDS and some dust it to the roots and swept off my face with a headband. Quick and easy :)

May Favorites

Hey Dolls :)

Here's what I've been loving throughout the sunny month of May....

Lush Catastrophe Cosmetic

This smells deeee-licious! The mask contains blueberries, chamomile, Irish Moss and almond oil which create a mask that has both a soothing and antiseptic effect on the skin making it a perfect product for blemish prone skin. As always it needs to be kept in the fridge and used within three weeks. It leaves my skin feeling brightened and refreshed.

Sephora Large Powder Brush

Yep, I've talked about it a lot before but I bloomin' love this brush! It indulges my lazy side - because it's so HUGE it deposits powder much more quickly whilst leaving an even finish.

Look at how big it is! It's also really soft and just a lovely brush to use - my MAC 150 has well and truly been cast aside!

Illamasqua Bronzing Duo

I think I have used this everyday since I bought it - the duo contains Glint and Burnish. I've been using the darker colour burnish as a contour and Glint as a highlight and the combination gives a beautiful dimension to the face. Although Burnish does have some shimmer it is not completely apparent on the skin and is ideal as a contour colour - the only downside is the price, the duo is £20 however as I've used it everyday I feel I'm getting my moneys worth!

MAC Naked Honey Perfume

Mm-mm-mmmmm I love this perfume! I bought this during my 'Waaaahh new mac collection, must buy everything' phase (I have put an end to this as more times than not I came away feeling a bit disappointed) however this perfume definitely was a treat! The overriding smell is honeysuckle - it is so lovely, sweet and summery, I'm glad I saved some for this summer and with this sunny weather it got it's 2010 debut!

Topshop Skin Glow Dark

This is one product from the toppers range I've not heard many people talking about - but I really like it! I got the dark version for when I have a tan however I want to go back for the light glow too as it had a beautiful pink iridescence. I use this before I put on my foundation and combined with the illy bronzing duo - hello glowy summery skin.

This is just on the back of my hand - look how pretty it is! Under foundation it's a bit more muted and rather pretty!

Boots Hair Razor

More often than not I cut my own hair and before I purchased this little beauty it was a lot trickier! Using a razor is a much easier way of trimming your fringe and honestly it's almost foolproof. If you're trimming your fringe you simply take the section of hair and run the razor down the length of the section and you have in instant graduated fringe! Easy!
