Hey Dolls :)
In celebration of my blogging a year I decided to have a little giveaway! I have tried to choose some prizes that are quite personal to my blog...
Illamasqua Bronzing Duo in Burnish/Glint.
Cath Kidston Emery Boards
Crown Jewelry Set
Second Prize
Cath Kidston Hand & Nail Set
Arrow Through the Heart Necklace
I use the illamasqua bronzing duo in every FOTD I do and still continue to get questions via email and comments about the product so thought it would be a good way for someone to try it! (A quick note I can use the duo at my palest and when I have a tan!). The Cath Kidston products are because I use a Cath Kidston background and if you've followed my blog for a while you will know Accessorize jewelry is my favorite!
I have also bought some lovely surprises to include shhhh!

Oh yay a giveaway! Lovely prizes :D
ReplyDeleteI don't do black smokey eyes as I think it makes my eyes look even more small so I normally use browns.
First off I put a little bourjois white e/s in the inner corners. (All other e/s are from UB book of shadows II)
Then put a bit of UD sellout over it
Then probs something like UD's YKD/Nylon
Then pop Twice Baked in the crease & a touch of a matt black eyeshadow right in the crease
I hope that sort of made sense xx
I haven't really been into experimenting with my make-up for very long. My old faithful was just eyeliner, and lots of it! However since watching Youtube videos and reading other blogs it's made me more experimental!
ReplyDeleteI really like MUA's pearl shades - they're very affordable and offer great payoff. However, even though I've only had it a couple of weeks I definately have to say my Urban Decay Naked Palette! It's a little box of perfect :)
xxx
I love using blue flame eyeshadow by Mac for a blue smokey eye, they are my favs.
ReplyDeleteAww happy 1 year :)
ReplyDeleteErm...right now, my favourite way to create a smokey eye is from my UD Naked palette! Be that a bronzed (Half Baked with Toasted and Hustle) or grey/black (Sin with Gunmetal). I'm in love with that palette :) xx
wow! a whole year, well done!
ReplyDeletei've been loving the sleek storm palette recently. seems to be my go-to product recently. I love using the shimmery shades with the matt black to create a smokey eye! x

Happy Blog Birthday ^_^
ReplyDeleteMy favourite for a smokey eye at the moment is MAC's Expensive Pink with Antiqued as a crease and outer V colour. Such a subtle/cute smokey eye. I did a blog post about it a while back! I also bought one of Revlon's quads the day before yesterday in Blushed Wines, and that also makes a nice smokey eye ^_^ I think I'm a bit too noobish at the moment to use black in a smokey eye-- it always looks so messy and nasty for me :|

What a fab giveaway, thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite way to do a smokey eye is to use purples, or blues or browns, I just cannot make black work on myself. I'm also loving Sleek's Storm palette, and otherwise I have a few MAC eyeshadows I adore using for a smokey eye, such as Deep Truth for a blue version, or Satin Taupe which I blend alone for a really subtle one sometimes.
Happy Blog Birthday!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite smokey eye product has to be Sleek Graphite you can't beat it and you can create loads of different smokey eyes! x
i love doing a smudgey-smokey eyeliner look, i think a full on smokey doesn't always look right on me...
ReplyDeletei use urban decay's zero to line my upper lash line then blend it out with a brush or my finger, then take a matte black shadow and do the same over the top. then line the water line and tonnes and tonnes of mascara!!
xoxo
ReplyDeletecongratulations doll, your blog is always a great read. your posts are awesome and you seem so down to earth, I hope you keep on blogging :)
Personally, I've always loved a bronze smokey eye, I think they complement any eye colour. Lately, I've taken a shining to adding cranberry or wine colours. I like to use a cream eyeshadow or MAC's Indianwood paintpot, add a shimmery bronze colour all over (I use a GOSH loose powder, I forgot what it's called :/), blend a matte brown colour in the crease then add a bit of MAC's Twinx on the bottom eyelid. Plus liquid eyeliner and lashings of mascara!
Thanks for holding the giveaway, the prizes look gorgeous! Good luck to all :D

i'm not too great at doing smokey eyes but if i do it i use bad gal as a base then nyx smokey look kit over the top and BLEND!

Oooh! Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteMy favourites are some browns from the Avon 8 in 1 neutral pallet.
All the colours make great smokey eyes but in brown colours which I think are more flattering on me.

As opposed to traditional black's, I like using shimmery browns, minks and taupes to achieve that smoked out look. I am not really brand specific in achieving that but I usually end up using these colors from the Sleek palettes. Cheap and Effective :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the blog birthday btw!

Happy Blog birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteFor smokey eyes I use what ever eyeliner I have on me - I swap so often to line how far out I want it then I use the sleek palette to create the effect. I love smokey eyes :D
For smokey eyes, I usually use a dark base, whether it be a normal black eyeliner pencil or NYX Black Bean jumpo pencil. I make sure I blend it out really well! Then, depending on my mood, where I'm going and what I'm wearing, I'll place matte black eyeshadow on, then a sparkly coloured eyeshadow over the top. Creates a gorgeous look! For example, either of the mineralize eyeshadows from Venomous Villains would be perfect! Or I have used 'Later' pigment from MAC's Alice and Olivia collection. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteHappy blog birthday!

If I attempt any kind of proper smokey eye I end up looking like a panda or someone who's been punched very hard in the face. Darn my crappy little eyes! Instead I opt for some kind of shimmery copper colour over the lid with lots of smudged black eyeliner & a big flick. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely giveaway sweets ♥

a smokey eye is my favorite kind of eye! when i do it i tend to use NYX white jumbo pencil all over the lid, plus around my inner corner, then go over it with NYX white pigment, in the middle i blend a silvery smokey grey from MaxFactor and in the outer crease & a little above i use the MaxFactor black from my starstudded eyeshadow pallete!
ReplyDeletegorgeous giveawy, congratulations on 1 year!

Happy Blog Birthday Nic :D
ReplyDeleteAhhh smokey eyes!! I love using browns to make a smokey eye and I adore using my About Face mineral shadows in Twinkle Dazzle Delight (inner corner), Minimal Damage (middle of the lid), and Because I Said So on the outer corner and blended up into the crease). I always top it off with e.l.f. Studio Cream Eye Liner and a couple of coats of 17 Wild Curls mascara :D Voila.

Happy Blog Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteI have two favourite smokey eye combos.
The first I feel is slightly cheating, but I love smokin' eyes by benefit, so simple to do and so so pretty! I also like benefit big beautiful eye kit for a more toned done smokey eye!
I love wearing all that glitters all over the lid, woodwinked on the outer v and carbon in the crease. Black track gel liner and lashings of mascara make the perfect smokey eye!!

WOW! Great Giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteFor a smokey eye I love using Benefits Bad Gal, this is a must its so soft and easy to use. First off I use Boots No7 Eyeshadow Truffle! If you haven't checked this colour out then next time your at the counter have a look its so pretty and can be worn over the lid on its own. Then I apply a small ammount of Black shadow from Sleeks Sunset palette and blend this very carefully into the crease a quarter of the way and a little underneath the lower lashes. I then apply Bad Gal along the top lash line and VERY softly along the lower lash line and then use a Mac 212 to go over the liner whilst blending and buffing slightly to create that smokey eye effect and then to finish off my fav mascara Cliniques High Impact Curling Mascara :) There sorry for long post lol, got carried away really like this look.

Great giveaway :)And well done on a whole year!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite smokey eye is with pale pinks and dark greys, as it's a little easier to wear than blacks. I love using Sleek storm for the pinks and that dark, slatey grey. I finish it off with black liner smudged into the lashes and smoked out. And a hella lotta mascara! A brown smokey can never go far wrong either...

♥ Happy Birthday to youuu Happy Birthday to youuu Happy Birthday Magics in the Make-upppp Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuuuuuu :) ♥
ReplyDeleteFor my smokey eye i love using browns & creams instead of blacks as i think its a much easier color to wear and doesnt look as harsh on my skin tone! If i want to make it have abit more umph i use lashing of mascara and a good set of falsies!
♥ ♥
For my smokey eye i would use brown or black and use the sleek storm pallet, with lots o5f black eye liner and false lashes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThose prizes look so lovely :) Enter me please!
My favourite smokey eye look is to use my NYX Smokey Eye palette which has 9 eyeshadow shades along with my L'Oreal Superliner in Carbon Gloss and lots and lots and LOTS of black mascara (Rimmel Lash Accelerator is my current favourite).
x
Nice idea for comments!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes a great smokey eye for myself is NARS Lili Marlene creme eyeshadow. It is the perfect base because it is slightly sticky--so I can use loose pigments over top, and the color is a cool dark gray--so using more colors than just blacks, silvers, and grays still works, without making the whole look so dark and flat.
I use Gun Metal all over the lid, Creep in the outer corner/crease and Virgin as an underbrow highlight (from the UD Naked Palette) with lots of black liquid eyeliner and mascara :)
ReplyDeleteFor smokey eyes I like to use bronzes and dark browns rather then blacks as I think the bronze sets off my blue eyes better and doesn't look as harsh! I seem to use my Urban Decay Get Baked palette alot when creating smokey eyes, I've had it for years and I LOVE IT. Teamed with my kajal liner and lots of mascara xxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteHeya!
ReplyDeleteI think im pretty boring cuase my standard smokey eye is just some reds and browns. I did try some blues but I get scared i look like someone punched me or something LOL

ReplyDeleteI love using MAC's Sable all over the lid with Urban Decay's Oilslick in the crease & slicking some black liquid liner on, as well as brown pencil liner to the waterline!

Great giveaway hun :) My signature smokey eye is soft ochre paintpot then with shroom all over the lid then sable on outer half of eye followed up with antiqued on the outer corner and in the crease :) All products are from mac!I love this smokey eye and it really suits brown & blue eyes really makes them pop!
ReplyDeleteEloise xoxo
I love both Black and brown smokey eyes.
ReplyDeleteFor brown smokey eyes I use MAC All that Glitters on the lid and MAC Sable in the crease.
For Black/Grey smokey eyes I tend to use the Sleek Graphite pallette which has everything you need in there :)
xxx
i think browns :)
ReplyDeleteenter me :) xx
I love a good ol' brown/gold smokey eye!
ReplyDelete- To start with, I use MAC's Patina all over the lid (occasionally the nudey colour from Sleek's storm pallette),
- Then either the gold from the Sleek storm pallette or MAC's Amber Lights in the outer bit of my eye, fanning out in a V sorta shape.
-I then use MAC's Tempting (all time favourite) in the crease and blend blend blend.
- Using Bobbi Brown gel eye liner in Brown, I do cat flicks.
- I finish with Rimmel's soft kohl pencil in brown smudged on the outer third of my bottom lashes and two coats of Este Lauder's Projectionist mascara.
Great Giveaway!! I dont normally do a smokey eye, but when I do:
ReplyDelete- I use browns because it brings out my eye colour a bit more
- I use a peachy colour all over the lid like Estee Lauder Honey Lust
- I then put MAC Fluidline in Dipdown on my upper and lower lash line and smudge quickly because it dries so quickly.
- I then line the upper lash line again to make it a bit deeper in colour, maybe add in a bit of colour like navy for something interesting.
- Line my upper and lower waterline with a brown eyeliner
- add loads of mascara and DONE! :)
Sexy eyes fast :)
xx
ooooh i LOVE a good smokey brown eye! I do it daily with out fail, just winged liner looks too blah on me.. the dark to light shadows really give my eyes more depth and more interest :D
ReplyDeleteI love love loooove using three shades from the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette..
*Drink me, eat me ~ nude champagne colour
* Mad Hatter ~ gorgeous mid tone brown
* Jabberwocky ~ black with glitter
OMG by far my favourite combo without a shadow of a doubt ;)
THEN either a gel liner (any will do) or squiggle of bourjois black pen liner (♥) and gel liner smudged under my waterline/urban decay ZERO black liner smudge in, then a little shadow toset it and smoke it oooout and lashings of fiber mascara and voila! Big round smokey eyes :D xxxxx
My classic smokey eye is with Mac Copperplate, Carbon & Smolder.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win!!!
